Extending Battery Life in Your Internet Phones
We’ve had a lot of iPhones in lately… I like the iPhone even though it is pretty big… I am resisting as much as I can. The features are great and tons of apps. They are sync’ing pretty good with Exchange and Google Apps too. I use a smart phone with Windows Mobile 6 and it has worked flawlessly for 2+ years. Most of the internet-enabled phones (smart phones), they have multiple interfaces; cell network (2G, 3G, 4G), WiFi (wireless network adapters) and Bluetooth.
A lot of users (like myself) do not use one or more of these interfaces MOST of the time. For instance, I never use my bluetooth adapter, rarely use WiFi (and I want to know when I do) and of course always have my cell network live for calls, emails, updates and such. So, I shut off my bluetooth and WiFi adapter and only turn them on if/when I need them. Why? In a lot of cases, you can go 2-3 times longer between charges. At least I’ve found that to be the case… try it and let me know. -Todd
