    Is your laptop cold?

If you haul your laptop or computer equipment with you (like I do), if the equipment has time to get cold, be sure to let it warm up to room temperature before powering it on.  Seems like an obvious thing to do, but we see this all the time where equipment is brought in icy cold and on.  The sudden temperature change causes condensation… potential corrosion or short-circuit could ruin your equipment.  Your computer equipment has temperature specifications; the temperature the equipment can be stored in (turned off) and the operating temperature range that the equipment was designed to be operated within.

In short, you should take care not to expose computer equipment to temperatures outside of the specified ranges according to your manufacturer’s specifications.   That means too hot or too cold.
