    Scareware

    It’s the latest rounds of viruses out there.  They seem to get people playing around on Facebook games… it’s not ads on Facebook, but rather when you start playing the games, then you are on the game’s website.  Then you stray off the game’s site onto some ad then BAM!

    You then get a pop up that looks an aweful lot like your anti-virus software.  The pop up usually states something like you’re infected with 75 viruses, worms and trojans.  Usually, it will prompt you to continue scanning.   Once you click, you’re infected with this “rogue/hoax anti-virus” that is infact a virus itself.

    Best thing to do is to unplug, or turn off the computer immediately and bring it into a CERTIFIED computer technician.  Not a hobbyist but a professional and get the computer cleaned.  When you catch it early it may clean up real easy and greatly reduce the price and damage.
