At the risk of sounding like a skipping record (that dates me a little), I must remind you how important it is to take your time and carefully evaluate incoming email and website searches, and/or web links and proceed with extreme caution. No matter the security measures we have in place, clicking or allowing a program to run/install can circumvent those measures and put you at risk.
I would share this with your staff via this email or the next staff meeting… everyone needs to know how important this is.
I just read an article on ZDNet about the latest Ransomware and it is scary stuff. It can ruin your workstation, network and server not only the data but lock you out of the operating system completely. You can read the article by following this link:
I don’t mind getting questions anytime. I also advise reporting any anomaly or event immediately. Time is a big factor as to how much data can be lost or the impact of the event. Also, if an obvious event has happened, unplug your computer ASAP. If you are on a laptop, unplug power, take out the battery and contact your IT support.
