As you may know, Yahoo! had a breach of security that most likely released 500+ million user account information including passwords.
If you use a Yahoo! account, I would change your password and change any account password that may be linked to. Here’s how I would recommend:
- Make a unique password for Yahoo!. Do not use the same password on any other account. Also, while changing password, register your cell phone for recovery. Using your cell phone as an authenticator is a great way to keep your information safe.
- When making passwords, they should be 8 characters in length, have at least one Cap letter and a number. For added measure, strong passwords suggest a special character as well (e.g., !@#$%^&*).
Often, getting your credentials to one thing leads to hackers getting to another thing and even more sensitive information.
